London Design Week 2015
London egyik luxus life style hotelje, a ME LONDON ad otthont annak az exkluzív kiállításnak mely az idei Design Week rendezvény keretén belül megrendezésre, ezzel is kimutatva elkötelezettségét, és folyamatos támogatását a formatervezés kiválóságai iránt.
Luxury lifestyle hotel, ME London will host an exclusive exhibition during this year’s London Design Festival, continuing its commitment to supporting design excellence.
ME London ideális helyen, az egyik kedvelt londoni úti cél, a Somerset House szomszédságában, vele szemben található. A Design Hét ideje alatt (2015. 09.21 – 2015. 09. 26) a szálloda egésze olyan neves nemzetközi formatervezők munkáit hozza kézközelbe, mint Nigel Coates, Nika Zupanc – Sé Collection III, Terence Woodgate és Luke Irwin.
Az angol designer és építész, Nigel Coates Scarabei / Scaradei nyolcas-terítékes porcelán kollekciója a központi, a kilenc emeletes piramis alakú átrium első emeletén lesz látható, az olasz porcelángyártó Richard Ginorival való együttműködés eredményeképp, aki egyébként ezzel debütál a szigetországban. Nigel Coates a hagyományos porcelánformát a Ginori archívum ihlette díszítő elemekkel kombinálta, ezzel egy teljesen új, absztrakt és szobrászati alkotást hozva létre. A gyűjtemény keretén belül kerül bemutatásra tervező Picco asztala is, ami szintén a Nigel Coates Editions tervezése.
Nika Zupanc díjnyertes darabja, a Sé Collection III – Olympia fésülködő asztala, a szálloda bejáratánál kerül kiállításra. Az asztalka márvány, réz és faalapanyagai újabb luxus filinggel fűszerezik az amúgy is prémium kategóriás lobby részletet.
Originally commissioned by Wallpaper* Handmade, designer and architect, Nigel Coates, will display the porcelain tableware collection Scarabei/Scaradei of-eight-place settings and a centrepiece in the nine-storey pyramidal atrium located on the first floor of the hotel. Produced in collaboration with Italian porcelain manufacturer Richard Ginori, it will be the first time the collection is shown in the UK.
Coates’ has fused traditional crockery from Ginori’s archive with decorative elements to create unexpected combinations of completely new, abstract and sculptural designs. The collection will be presented on the designer’s Picco table, created for his label Nigel Coates Editions.
Furniture Brand, Sé, will present The Olympia Dressing Table from Nika Zupanc‘s award-winning Collection III in the entrance of the hotel. Materials such as marble, brass and wood are used throughout the collection to add a touch of luxury.
Ipari formatervező, Terence Woodgate, a legmodernebb LED világítási technológiát kombinálta a természetes anyagokkal és a funkcionális formával, így születettek meg a Core kollekció carrarai márvány lámpái. A gyűjtemény új, asztali lámpái exkluzív előzetesként a London Design Week -en lesznek láthatók, hivatalosan bemutatkozó 2015 év végén várató.
A díjnyertes londoni székhelyű tervező, Luke Irwin, csodálatos szépségű selyem, gyapjú és kasmír kézi csomózású szőnyegeinek egyedülálló mélysége és textúrái egy gyönyörű új kollekcióban bontakoznak ki, mely a másik három formatervező gyűjteményéhez hasonlóan, szintén a Foster + Partners ME London Hoteljében találják meg a legtökéletesebb prezentációs helyüket…
Industrial designer, Terence Woodgate, uses LED lighting technology combined with beautiful design and natural materials. His collection, ‘Core’, features Carrara and Nero Marquina marble pendants, available as singular pieces or in clusters. A new range of table lamps will be revealed for the first time at London Design Festival, featuring a Carrara base, topped with a blown-glass shade. ME London will unveil this exclusive preview before the range officially launches in late 2015.
Award-winning London-based designer, Luke Irwin, specialises in the creation of bespoke, hand-knotted rugs, using silk, wool and cashmere. Irwin’s designs have a unique depth and texture, reflected in his latest collection, which will be shared as part of ‘The Edit’ exhibition.
